Novel Update #2

I hope it comes as no surprise that I have spent the last few weeks or so doing noting. I have made every attempt to write; sitting down on my bed with my notebook open on my lap, pen in hand, only to put it down and instead opt for ten games of Dress to Impress (maybe more if I'm on a streak). Needless to say I was shocked yesterday when my notebook stayed open and words began to line the page. I have officially started the novel. But even more importantly, I have written for myself. I was so focused on my studies that I haven't had the time or urge to write in my spare time. It feels good to be getting back into it.

I've never tackled a project this big before, so I was initially unsure how to even approach it, and the thought of starting was incredibly daunting. However, after mulling it over (and some advice from H), I have decided to write it act by act. I started on the first scene yesterday, and hopefully will finish it this week. I'm intending on writing one scene every week (depending on the length), but hopefully, as I begin to get into the habit of writing more frequently, I will be able to pick up the pace and I won't have to force myself to write.

Anyway, this has been a very brief update, but an update nonetheless. I'm hoping to continue with these updates monthly. I'm also hoping that this blog with keep me motivated and hold me accountable for my writing. Hope your writing is going well!
